How Outsourcing Your To-Do List Will Save Your Sanity

Do you have little jobs you keep putting off? Maybe you don’t like doing them or don’t have the time. Outsourcing doesn’t have to be a luxury, even handing over small tasks can relieve a lot of stress. To mark Wednesday’s National Stress Awareness Day, we’ve shared ten common tasks you can outsource today and finally get them ticked off your to-do list.

piles of paper and text saying 'I can do anything not everything'

If your inbox is overflowing with unread messages, old emails and junk mail then it could be time for a sort out – but when you’re busy working or running a business, it can be hard to find the time.

A VA can help tidy it up and give it a bit of structure - creating subfolders, labelling and filing emails, unsubscribing from unwanted emails and flagging important tasks for actioning.

2. Travel Arrangements

Finding the right travel and accommodation for business trips can be time-consuming and stressful. Outsource this job to a VA and they can use their experience and knowledge to make sure you get the right bookings for you and your team.

3. Chasing Invoices

This can be one of the trickiest parts of running a business. Let a VA chase late payments for you and you can distance yourself from the stress and concentrate on doing what you do best.

4. Business Insurance

Do you need to look for some business insurance but don’t know where to start or have the time to investigate it properly? This is something a VA can research for you and help you find the right insurance to protect your business.

5. Tax Returns

There's not long to go now so you may have a pile of receipts that need logging. It’s a time-consuming task that can often be put off until the last minute.

Instead, you could book a VA on an ad-hoc basis to go through your receipts and log them for you – so you can avoid that last minute stress.

6. Sending Contracts

If you’ve employed new show staff, a VA can send out contracts, making sure they’ve been signed, returned and filed away for you.

7. Calendar Management

With lots of exciting shows planned for 2022, your calendar may be filling up. If you’re booking in work for next year but can’t keep on top of the dates, a VA can do this for you and help you keep track of scheduling and your availability.

8. Christmas Cards

The festive season is fast approaching and it‘ll soon be time to start sending out Christmas cards to clients. A VA can make a spreadsheet of addresses, make labels for the envelopes, even design cards and order them for delivery in December, so you can focus on your work – and getting into the festive spirit!

9. Shopping Research

Need a thoughtful Christmas gift to send out to important and valued clients? Outsource this to a VA and they can do the research for you, as well as drawing up a spreadsheet of addresses, ordering the gift and arranging deliveries for you.

10. Christmas Party

While you may be looking forward to celebrating the festivities with your team, you may not be a natural party planner – not many people are!

A VA can draw up a list of venues, attendees and suggest ideas for caterers and entertainment so you can remove a lot of the stress and focus on letting your hair down after a busy year.
